Strengthening financial and social sustainability

The Olancho Aid Foundation (OAF) has worked for almost 30 years to provide access to high-quality, values-based Catholic education in Olancho, Honduras. OAF operates two educational institutions: Instituto Cardenal, one of OAF’s flagship schools, plays a critical role in expanding access to high-quality Spanish, technology-enabled, and future-oriented learning for Honduran youth. Nazareth School is focused on special needs education, inclusive learning opportunities, and building marketable vocational skills for adults with special needs while 

As OAF seeks to position Instituto Cardenal for long-term sustainability and growth, it is essential to evaluate its business model, clarify its identity and strengthen its ability to serve both students and the wider community. 

The Notre Dame team will assess Instituto Cardenal’s operations and identify pathways to strengthen its financial and social sustainability. Our partnerships for 2026 involve the review, assessment and recommendations for increasing operational effectiveness and efficiency for Institute Cardenal. Through the partnership, the students will focus on the operational systems of Institute Cardenal while delving into business tools (Marketing, Branding, Supply Chain, Financial Instruments, Technology, Human Resources) necessary to maintain and grow the institution.
